We are 10 years old and growing!!! The Bay St. George Folk Arts Council is a not-for-profit organization formed in March 2007 to promote folk arts in the areas of Bay St. George and the Port au Port Peninsula. Currently we have in excess of 100 members and are going strong.
Traditional and Newfoundland music is an important part of our culture. Fiddle, mandolin, accordion, bodhran, guitar and whistle sessions facilitate the learning and development of skills in an informal group setting. For more details, check out our events page.
Our monthly Folk Nights provide local artists and musicians with the opportunity to showcase their talents. This popular event takes place on the last Saturday of every month at Emile’s Pub, Days Inn, Stephenville, starting at 8 pm. A different group will host each month, playing 8-9 and 9-10, with an open mic hour in between for anyone interested in performing. Check our UPCOMING EVENTS which is regularly
Our door is always open for new members.
